Newly-promoted Chapel Allerton, Queens of Halifax and hat-trick chasing Pontefract 1 maintained their 100% records in round two of the Yorkshire Premier League.
After their opening night win over Dunnington last week, Leeds club Chapel Allerton were triumphant again with a 19-5 home victory over Ferriby Hall.
To begin with, Chapel A's Sanath Sha completed an epic victory over Yusuf Forster 17/15 in the fourth game and club stalwart Ross Williamson was a brisk winner over Mike Reid.
When no.3 Stan Sykes dismissed former England no.1 junior Ben Sockett in straight games, the hosts secured the win. Aussie Brad Fullick put a cherry on the cake with a 3/1 win at no.2, but the visitors from Humberside got a late consolation via Samuel Ince-Carvalhal's mammoth five-game victory against Gabriel Cox.
Queens, who were winners of the inaugural Yorkshire Premier League title in 1961 and have won it 13 times in all, also made it two from two with a 17-6 triumph at Pontefract 2.
Adam Smith drew first blood for Ponte 2 but Cory Harding soon levelled in three tight games against Danny Siddall.
At no.3, Queens' Jordan Hardwick resisted a gritty effort from 16-year-old Noah Riley, and when veteran James Earles battled past Chester Dockray, also in three close games, the points were secure for the visitors.
Kiwi Lwamba Chileshe took the edge off the winning margin though with a cracking five-game victory over Queens no.1, ex-England international George Parker.
There was a fright for Pontefract 1, who are aiming for a third straight title, as they narrowly squeaked past Hallamshire 16-10 in Sheffield.
Ponte's Tom Bamford held off a stiff challenge from Alex Cutts to win in four, but the hosts got a W on the board when Adam Turner battled past Matt Godson 11/9 in the fifth in the clash of the captains.
The no.1's went on next and Ponte 1's England international Patrick Rooney was surprisingly blitzed in three by Welshman Elliot Morris Devred. The hosts, who finished second-bottom last year, were one win away from causing an early-season shock.
Scotland's Rory Stewart, who retired from the PSA Tour over the summer to become a golf coach at Rudding Park in Harrogate, just about kept the match alive with a crunch five-game win over Charles Keeble. And Rory Richmond saved Ponte on the anchor leg with a 3/1 victory over Temwa Chileshe.
Harrogate got their season under way after sitting out the opening week (there are nine teams in the league again this season) but went down 14-7 at Cleethorpes.
The hosts' lower-order pair Louie Truman and Pete Dickinson both won breezily, only for ex-England player Chris Simpson and Londoner Caleb Boy to hit back with straight-games wins of their own. It came down to the no.1 pair and former world no.31 Nick Wall sealed it for Cleethorpes in four games against Spain's Hugo Lafuente Jaen.
